After your laptop is connected to UVA's network, you can set up your computer to access Architecture School resources. This will connect you to the school's storage drives Classes, Projects, and ScanTemp, and to all of the student printers and plotters.

  • Get the Cisco Anyconnect Saml Configuration you need. Open it up with online editor and begin adjusting. Complete the empty areas; concerned parties names, addresses and phone numbers etc. Customize the blanks with exclusive fillable fields. Include the particular date and place your electronic signature. Click Done following double-examining.
  • The VPN gateway is accessed with Cisco AnyConnect client software. The AnyConnect client will be automatically installed to all university-managed (MESA or Casper) workstations beginning Thursday, October 1. For more information, visit the ITS website. Contact the ITS Support Center at 703-993-8870 or support@gmu.edu with questions.
  • AnyConnect is Virtual Private Network (VPN) software required to securely connect to UB services from off campus, including My Virtual Computing Lab and UBfs. AnyConnect is the recommended VPN client at UB.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN:

  1. Setup your Accounts and Login at UVA. (if you have not already)
NOTE: If you are not on-grounds, you will need to do Step 6 Connect to UVA WiFi anyway. Please note that it will give you an error and not connect to UVA WiFi, and it will disconnect you from your home WiFi. You will need to reconnect to your home WiFi to finish. This is still necessary because Step 6 installs your Personal Digital Certificate and profile, which is needed for other things.
  2. If you are not on-grounds at UVA, please install the UVA Anywhere VPN (see below) BEFORE continuing to connect to the A-School resources. The VPN is required to connect to A-School resources.
After you have it installed, please run the Cisco AnyConnect program on your computer and Connect. This will connect you to the university to get access to A-School resources.

If you're off-grounds in an apartment, home in China, traveling to Italy, or just went to your parents for the weekend and need access, you will need the UVA Anywhere VPN. This makes your computer act like it is on-grounds and lets you connect to drives, printers, the library, and lots of other useful things at UVA when you managed to escape for a little bit.

Depending on how your company configured Duo authentication, you may or may not see a “Passcode” field when using the Cisco AnyConnect client.

Your login attempt will fail — log in again with one of your new passcodes.

You can also add a number to the end of these factor names if you have more than one device registered. For example, push2 will send a login request to your second phone, phone3 will call your third phone, etc.

Examples

The comma is Duo's default separator character between your password and the Duo factor. Your administrator may have changed this to a different character. Be sure to follow the instructions sent to you by your organization if they differ from what's shown here.
